Where are my conversations stored?
On the device. Prompts, attachments, answers and voice recordings are processed by the model running on your iPhone and are never uploaded.
Which servers does the app connect to?
Four, and none of them receive your conversations:
| Host | Why | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| huggingface.co | Model metadata and model file downloads | The repo and file being requested. Downloads are anonymous: the app never asks for a Hugging Face token. |
| raw.githubusercontent.com | Model catalog, benchmark suite and release notes | A request for public JSON files from the project's GitHub repository. |
| itunes.apple.com | Checking whether a newer app version exists | The app's own bundle identifier, nothing else. |
| ingest.proapp.uk | Measuring how models run on real iPhones | Load time, speed, memory use and benchmark scores, with the device model, iOS and app version, language, time zone and a random install id. Never prompts, answers, attachments or file names. |
Like any web server, these hosts see your IP address when the app connects. Their own privacy policies apply to that.
What does the app store on my phone?
Downloaded models, your chats, benchmark reports and a few interface settings, all inside the app's own container.
The app reads free disk space to show it on the device card and to stop a download early when a model won't fit. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
What about Apple Foundation Models?
When you choose Apple's model, Pocket AI Lab calls it through the FoundationModels framework, which runs on the device as part of Apple Intelligence.
Which permissions does it ask for?
Only the ones a feature needs, when you first use it: the microphone for voice messages, the camera for taking a photo to send to a vision model, and photo library access for attaching images or video.
Can I check this myself?
Yes. The source code is public on GitHub under the MIT license, including the privacy manifest.
